MofM: Grand Scheme
Month of Music Day 4 Solomon's Wish Grand Scheme Wise Man's Tragedy
The questions run so deep When it's 2 in the morning I should be lost in sleep In my mind I am sorting All the things that I can't explain Why so many suffer in pain? Where's the answer? I hide behind a smile But in my heart I am bleeding I can sometimes read the crowd And relate to their feelings Never knowing what tomorrow brings And trying so hard to just believe in something [Chorus:] Falling around me is a world so incomplete It makes no sense to me How can I compete? Except to know the mercy and the comfort that You bring Oh, in spite of me Its a mystery And when I cannot see You keep my feet from falling You hold me in Your peace Here in the grand scheme We can only know in part When we're this side of heaven So I'm trusting in my heart For one final amen A day when all the wrong will be made right And that's all I really need to rest inside, tonight [Chorus:] Falling around me is a world so incomplete It makes no sense to me How can I compete? Except to know the mercy and the comfort that You bring Oh, in spite of me Its a mystery And when I cannot see You keep my feet from falling You hold me in Your peace Here in the grand scheme When I cannot see You keep my feet from falling You hold me in Your peace Here in the grand scheme
My Take:
Boy, I *am* emo. The story behind this is that there's this company in Mississippi called Soul Purpose Productions that puts on Christian concerts in central Mississippi. One of their events was a crawfish festival with this AWESOME corn. And Stacy was there. Long-time MacStansbury fans will recognize Stacy as being the real-life representation of Staci, the secretary of my international Dominionist operation that was set on conquering the planet, and making fun of Britney Spears. Look, it was in the charter. Never mind. Anyway, I had the biggest crush on Stacy back then. It was rather sad, really. I am such a 3rd-grader. No, wait, they have much more sophistication. But I remember that it was warm out, muggy Mississippi. When they played that song, I was sold. One bought album later, I still remember them playing that one live. And Stacy, wearing her orange shirt, and those brown shorts. Okay, so I still have a crush.
