Wow. That’s some good copying what Mac OS X looks like. Yeck. Or, as the Daring Fireball guy had to say:

I know it’s a beta, but yeesh — this is one ugly and convoluted user-interface.

Amen, brother. Behold! the fine Find dialog. Oh, I missed the more advanced Find dialog. I am amused by the whole Longhorn fiasco. There are rumors of morose over at Microsoft…like, real unhappy people, trudging along, making second-rate stuff. And now Apple is on version 5 of it’s new operating system, something that’s getting faster with every iteration. Something else many people like myself have noticed in the past few weeks, that every Tiger story is inexorably linked, for no good reason that I can think of, to stories about Longhorn. Not that either has anything to do with anything. One is a next-generation system that is full of potential and flexibility, the other one plays really great games! And…it’s God awful ugly. UPDATE: I would be remiss to forget that my hero, that Daring Fireball guy, has put up some changes between Panther and Tiger. It's good reading.
