A blogmaster is someone who's put together a site that looks good, is full of great content, and - this is the most important part - makes me green with envy. Now, while there are literally millions of websites, there are precious few that impress most people, and even fewer make me want to copy them. While putting together some new ideas to take on, this is one that I always looked at, but never consciously thought I was doing.

When I see a site that I'd just want to rip off all their ideas, that's when you know you are doing well. When I see a site I actually rip off, then you know I just can't resist. It goes beyond that, though. I tend not to blatantly steal ideas from openly stupid people. Yes, there's a lot of great designers out there...but some of them are obviously great designers, and not great writers. I had this big idea to go into politics for a while, and I found out that while it's nice to think you can bring the others up, you tend to just get fleas.

Everybody has dumb ideas, opinions, and bad days. Unlike real life, once it's been put out in the wild, it's difficult to get back. That I can handle, even if it's an obvious character flaw. I'm interested in quality, not mad blog hits, or links in Technorati. It's a selfish endeavor, but I've done it for years now, but I never put in on a website before.

Think of this as a website review. Or, more accurately, a beauty pageant, with only one judge. And not even sleeping with me will help you if you're on Blogger. Sorry, just seen that Minima theme one too many times.

Expect to see this feature every year or so, or whenever I get around to posting.
