A little Switchfoot love for some MacStansbury love, you see? On Wednesday, I found something that TextDrive puts together, TextPlanet. I loves my hosting company, and now I'm getting a little TextPlanet love.

Unlike from some people. I'll be in my room, crying. TextPlanet is an RSS aggregator, powered by Planet!, that puts all the TextDrive folks all on one page. It's like a love-in for people who like their web server. It's strange, but TextDrive isn't really well known, per se, but it's got a tight little community, unlike other monolithic companies. Don't get me wrong, TextDrive isn't perfect. My server goes down, completely, for an hour every month or so. Now, if that's the worst thing I can say about them, then I think they're doing pretty well. I've had dealings with some other servers I don't host with (Dreamhost, GoDaddy), and I'm finding I really get lucky the day I read about the VCII. The VCII was just another round of financing for TextDrive, modeled around the VC200, only without the t-shirts. I would've liked to known about them when that was around, just to say I got in on the ground floor. As it stands, I'm in on the second floor. It appears there's going to be a few more floors, by the looks of it. I'm going to start talking about TextDrive, and some other Joyent products in the coming months and years. They make good stuff, it just works, and I like it. And I've already paid for it, so it's time I show it off. UPDATE: And I guess I need to start talking up Joyent as well.
