My Take:

Oddly enough, this song makes my emo list...I mean, my Month of Music list because of something that I don't think people do much of anymore: take chances. This song was off a sampler, and I liked it. Later, I took a chance, and bought the album. That was an incredible mistake. My wallet will never forgive me for what happened after I got Skillet's self-titled debut - I started buying everything. Honestly, I was so pleased with the songs off this album, that I started taking chances all over the place. Any new band that came along, I'd give them a chance. I started to find that my local Christian bookstore started to carry harder stuff after dc Talk's Jesus Freak was such a success. Skillet was one of these bands. Skillet can really be described as a Praise and Worship band from a garage in Seattle. Grungy and electronic, there's angst-y gold in them tracks. There's also thoughtful lyrics. The first time I listened to the lyrics, I was hooked. Admittedly, I mostly listen to the music, and sometimes the words. Like what happened when I listened to Willow Tree, it was something in the words that got me. It's how you are set up with a corollary, starting with Saturn's rings. The objects in nature, used as a device to provide an illustration of faith. We are led to come to a conclusion that Heaven is like Saturn's rings, out there, even if we can't see it. I dig songs that make me think.
