One of the first people I got into while finding the A-list bloggers earlier this year, Nicholas Carr, writes something about "frugal computing." I like the phrase "in every era, the winning companies are those that waste what is abundant – as signalled by precipitously declining prices – in order to save what is scarce." The rest of that piece is strong, but I'll be quoting that phrase for a long time.

Apple's ditching the Mac guy. Any new Mac Guy can't be any worse than the fake Mac Guy. Do they even need a Mac Guy? PC is great in them commercials all by himself, just put Hodgman in there by himself, split-screen.
