Amazon Wish Lists
A friend of mine suggested I come up with a list of possessions I'd love to be given. For whatever reason, I listened to her, and came up with a few items. Then, a few more. Eventually, I had so much stuff on the list, that it was less a list, and more like the complete listing of the Amazon.com directory.
After some pruning, I got it down to the bare essentials. Only the things that would help me in my career as an internet mogul. Then I added a few thousand other things. Just a few thousand essential things, though.
That went through another scrub, and I split it into several, focused lists. The intent is that you're not getting me everything, just one or two or 178 things of the list. Then you'll prove your love for me, and your worthiness. Then, and only then, may you kiss my ring; my magnanimity knows no bounds.
My kingly blessings aside, it's a very nice way of showing how much you love me by wasting your hard-earned money on a pauper such as I. Now, for your giving-me-stuff needs, my Amazon.com wish lists:
For the people who really love me, the stuff I actually would like to get
For those of you who think I should read more, my book list.
For those of you who think that the big music companies don't have enough money, my music list.
For those of you who think I don't spend enough time away from the computer, the DVD list (so I can spend it in front of a TV).
For those of you who thing I dress like an ice-dancer (and want to change that), my swag list.
For those of you who want to encourage my programming career, the software list.
For those of you who want my first child named after them, the chock-full-of-expensive tech list.
Do not, however, feel limited by my selections. If you feel the need to buy me a server farm, feel free; there's no limit on how much love you can show me.
Remember: money can't buy love, but it can buy happiness.
