For the past two years I’ve been a sponge for all things pastoral. One of the things I’ve been hesitant to learn is the fine art of sermon openings. I’m starting to work at this more as I grow older I’ll lose some abilities I’ve counted on all my life.

I heard that there are three things that get worse as you grow older:

1. Your hearing gets worse

2. Your vision gets worse

3. And…well…

I forget what the third thing is.

Probably wasn’t important.

What was I talking about?

Sorry about that

Just taking a break from all kinds of learning with the Jesus and whatnot. Thought I’d get the “horrifyingly terrible jokes to begin a sermon” part of my Master’s work out of the way. Nothing like practical application, I say.

Again, I apologize.
